Purpose

To strive to apply the teachings of the Bahá’í Cause to the elimination of prejudices against Queer people within & outside the Bahá’í Community.

Goals

  • Eliminating prejudice against Queer people.

  • Educating the Bahá’í and wider population on the potential and power of the Bahá’í Teachings to create a loving, united, peaceful, just, and universal community for Queer people.

  • Exploring of the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh in regards to Queerness.

  • Engaging the Bahá’í community in expanding the circle of openness to better include Queer believers.

  • Encouraging and inspiring Bahá’í institutions to treat Queer issues more meaningfully.

  • Helping Queer Bahá’ís and other Queer people in their spiritual journeys and navigation of challenges within the Bahá’í community.

Milestones

  • We have organized our milestones for the project into three categories, in line with the common way of seeing the protagonists in society through a Bahá’í lens: (1) Individuals, (2) Communities, (3) Institutions.
